Debenhams Dundee: Relaunched

Last weekend saw the hotly anticipated relaunch of Dundee’s only department store, Debenhams and I went along to have a good nosy!

The shop floors have been given a new layout to maximise efficient use of space and provide customers with easily navigated departments. I spoke to a few fellow shoppers and they all agreed that Debenhams had improved greatly, which was good news since it’s their one-stop-shop in Dundee for all things stylish – from beauty to fashion to interiors. I have to say, the new Dior counter is especially chic and I was excited to that Debenhams now stocks the super-cool fashion-focused Nail Girls. As far as fashion goes, I love the new shoe department (an entire wall of shoes – what’s not to like?), the Designers at Debenhams range (I was so impressed with No 1 by Jenny Packham that I bought a dress there and then) and the lingerie department is particularly pretty, yet practical.

The launch wasn’t just about showing off the new look store (which really does look fresh and fabulous – can you believe it’s been in Overgate for 11 years?!); Debenhams had special offers, a live two-piece band singing Paolo Nutini brilliantly (a singer/guitarist and a saxophonist – very cool) and a roaming fashion show hosted by their uber chic personal shopper, Jenny. She knows all about fashion and body shapes so is well worth booking an appointment with. (If nothing else, you’ll get to have a giggle with her over fashion and shopping in the amazing new personal shopping department).

If you didn’t get to visit Debenhams during the launch, make sure you pop along this weekend to take full advantage of the new facilities, brands and offers. I honestly can’t express how brilliant I think the range is at Debenhams this season, from pretty dresses and occasion coats to Betty Jackson bed linen and shabby chic homewares. The summertime launch has got me looking forward to Debenhams’ AW13 collections already!
