Cosy essentials

Is there a better feeing than having your comfy, warm clothes on? Especially when they look great too. I’ve had this Baukjen striped jumper on every day since it arrived. It’s lovely and soft, and feels lightweight despite being on the chunkier side of knitwear, and it’s so easy to wear. Leggings are immediately elevated, jeans are made effortless. I’ve paired it with these straight leg jeans, also from Baukjen, which give a real nod to the 90s – they remind me of the ones I wore when I was 16 (1998), with a high waist with a straight, almost-baggy shape – and some chunky trainers.

I love it when you find something to wear that you just don’t want to take off. Although this particular jumper is pricey, it’s the best one I’ve found (and I have tried so many in my quest for the perfect striped knit). It’s become my go-to knitwear for feeing warm and comfortable but looking smarter than I would in, say, my hoodie. If you do decide to invest in this one, I can assure you it’ll pay off because it will quickly become a firm favourite for working from home or wearing at the weekend, and it’ll even work beautifully half-tucked into some indigo flared jeans.

Another reason to enjoy this sweater is because it’s a responsible choice. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll have seen me share how sustainable Baukjen is, and something pretty cool and very special about this fabric is that it’s 50% merino wool (hence, the cosiness) and 50% Newlife, a yarn engineered from plastic bottles.
