I’m kind of obsessed with chunky ankle boots again this autumn. Like its summer counter-part the white trainer, this season’s ankle boot is as practical as it is stylish and, with two young kids and a year of no parties, that’s my kinda shoe these days. These boots are by Jones Bootmaker and I’ve been wearing them on repeat with my new jeans and this long padded coat. I’m also loving the fact that padded coats continue to be a thing, so I invested in this long but super light puffer and I’ve worn it every day since it arrived a week ago. It’s perfect for throwing over jeans and a jumper – I’m not great at layering so, at this time of year when it’s a lot cooler, it’s nice to have something lightweight but warm, and that actually looks cool too.
Like these boots, which are also ticking the boxes of a middle-aged comfort-seeker without compromising on style. They’re flat, they’re practical – they even got the approval of a podiatrist who follows me on Instagram. But they look cool, especially with cropped jeans or with a winter floral dress. They’re the first pair of flat ankle boots that I’ve been able to wear for a 30-minute walk without feeling pain in my feet (I suffer with my big toe joints and I’m a total wimp when it comes to blisters) so that’s a major plus in my book.
I’m wearing
Coat, Uniqlo
jeans, Citizens of Humanity (gift)

Looking good, live the cost and it’s great the boots are comfy, a definite must x
