Outfit Post: Bouclé and Mock Croc

I thought I’d share with you my new Gharani Strok bouclé coat, which I discovered in the bowels of TK MAXX – I only ever find active wear there, so was very excited when I found this wee gem. The coat is quite thin, and has an A-line, almost 1960s cut. I’ve been on the lookout for a bouclé wool jacket for years but have never found the right one (since I can’t afford Chanel), however, this one was a great fit thanks to the longer length and flattering silhouette. It’s classic black, with silver threading and black fringing around the collar and cuffs. To finish, the sequins on the pockets add some much needed glamour.

The bouclé wool is a classic, timeless fabric, one which conjures images of Coco Chanel, Olivia Palermo and the Sex and the City character, Charlotte York, so my natural instinct was to keep the look simple with black opaques (skinny jeans will also work well). I teamed the coat with a red mock croc, structured handbag and a messy up-do.

Coat by Gharani Strok at TK MAXX; matte opaque 80 tights by Wolford; shoes by New Look; bag by Ripani, gifted by local boutique in 2007.

Love it! Looks really good with the bag and opaques and would like to see it with skinny jeans too.
