The social event of the calendar (for A-listers, of course) is the Met Gala, which took place last night at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Red carpet regulars include Gisele, SJP and Beyoncé and is attended by fashion royalty, Hollywood stars and top supermodels from across the globe. Basically, it’s a party for the beautiful people.
This year’s Met Gala saw more power couples than ever attend the glittering event, with both halves making waves on the red carpet. I thought I’d share with you my top five power couples from last night.
1. Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively (in Gucci)
Classic. Timeless. I love that he chose simple black to let Blake’s divine Gucci gown do the talking. That train! The rose gold! They could be from another era. 10/10.
2. David and Victoria Beckham (in Victoria Beckham)
Clean, fresh, modern and yet totally black tie appropriate. Do they ever put a foot wrong these days?
3. Mr & Mrs Carter AKA Jay Z and Beyonce (in Givenchy)
Finally, Beyonce looking like Beyonce. And Jay Z in a dickie bow? Top marks.
4. Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger (in Hugo Boss)
Old Hollywood glamour, done perfectly. And what a difference a smile makes!
5.Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone (in Thakoon)
Both Andrew and Emma stayed true to the black tie dress code but brought a youthfulness to the red carpet – with his metallic jacket and her colour blocked crop-top and maxi combo, they look young and fresh and red-carpet ready!
Which couple gets your vote?
My favorite was Blake Lively. She looked glamorous from head to toe. I actually just made a post about some of my favorite looks from the Met Gala too!
