Marks & Spencer revealed the Leading Ladies line up yesterday, which includes pop songstress Rita Ora and celebrity chef Rachel Khoo. The eight leading ladies are influential Brits who form M&S’s SS14 campaign, of which there are four different edits: 90s Luxe, Pretty Things, Worldwide and Pretty Pastels. Shot by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz and styled by Hannah Teare, the campaign sees a “considered edit and interpretation of the season’s strongest trends. A graphic monochromatic palette and abstract prints are dramatically positioned alongside feminine pastels and shimmering metallics to depict a fresh aesthetic.” The campaign certainly achieves this, with its edit of fashion-forward clothes juxtaposed by the quintessentially British settings, from coastal scenes to idyllic countryside.
