Corrie Nielsen (winner of the coveted Fashion Fringe title in 2010) was inspired by Kew Gardens for her SS13 collection, which she showed at London Fashion Week on Friday. The collection was a reflection of different types of flowers and blooms, with pom-pom type ruffles, petal-like peplums, voluminous sleeves and tulip shaped skirts and dresses. The colour palette was perfect for springtime blooms, with pretty pastels in rose pink and sky blue juxtaposed by darker shades of thunder-cloud grey – just what we would expect at Kew Gardens during the unpredictable British summers.
