Live Native is a tiny, family business based on the Isle of Skye that makes by hand a range of fresh, cold pressed, therapeutic, ‘nature intact’ skin foods. As neither their ingredients nor their processes are heated, the therapeutic enzymes, nutrients and health giving properties of their pure, natural ingredients are retained – so they really do work wonders on the skin.
Vicky and Ian established Live Native April 2008 and since then they have received the accolade of ‘The Future in Skin Care’ and awarded ‘highly commended’ in the best newcomer category by Lifescape Magazine, as well as nominated as in the top 10 UK Eco Beauty companies by The Ecologist magazine in February 09 – proof that they’re products are genuine and innovative but also (perhaps more importantly?) that they work!
The lovely Katherine at PR Workshop sent me a sample of the Botanic Earth Mud Mask and believe me when I tell you, this is a product you should definitely have in your bathroom cabinet. It’s all about beautiful skin in the making…vegan, organic, what could be better for our skin? The mud mask comes in a little, earthy brown pot (30ml) with a decadent, gold lid. Inside is a light brown powder that smells far too much like cocoa powder – I nearly popped a teaspoon in a mug of cosy milk! (Not really).
You mix a teaspoon of the powder with some warm water to create a paste, and apply to the face without going too near to your eyes. Leave on for around 7-10 minutes and regularly spray with the accompanying moisture spray to keep the mask from solidifying. It feels so good on the skin and smells divine but remember to apply when you aren’t expecting visitors, because (as with any face mask) it’s really not that attractive!
