The leather pant. Difficult territory to navigate, but a long term investment once you discover the perfect pair. These might be faux leather, but they’re convincing, yes? The high, natural waist, side zip and solid material means they’re a good fit, and thus forgiving.
Teamed with an oversize knit, the leather pant is wearable and cool as weekend wear; with a loose camisole and killer heels, it’s an effortlessly sexy evening look. Either way, a full length coat or blazer draped over the shoulders adds polish, taking you to brunch or the office.
Next, I’ll wear my leather pants with an old band t-shirt and patent black court shoes, finishing with a messy ponytail, kohl eyes and dark nail polish. How will you wear yours?
I’m Wearing: faux leather trousers and cardigan, both Ben de Lisi for Principles, Designers at Debenhams; longline t-shirt, Miss Selfridge, Debenhams; sunglasses, Nicole Farhi at Harvey Nichols (similar here); boots, Ted & Muffy (now half price).

I love my leather leggings/trousers, I think they look fab with a chunky knit and boots this time of year and great with a silk top and heels for a night out. I have bought a few but find the high waist options are the best and don’t be tempted by too low a price tag! It can all start to look too plastic!

Linda, you certainly have the legs for leather trousers! I always think you have such a Parisian look and in your leather leggings and chunky knit, all you need is a glass of red in hand! A high waist is definitely the answer. The best pair I ever found were 100% leather by Dom & Ruby – but at over £400 I had to leave them behind. Maybe one day! Thanks for reading and commenting, show me your leather trousers asap. XXX
