Harvey Nichols Edinburgh – AW12 Runway Show

Last night, I attended the Harvey Nichols Edinburgh AW12 fashion show. On arrival, guests were offered a glass of Champagne (how could I resist?) before being shown to the runway – obviously, I grabbed one of the best spots on the front row. I settled into my seat, cameras at the ready, and read through the programme, which detailed both the womenswear and menswear looks. The music thumped, the lights dimmed – and the show began.
Celine was the first look (a PVC, zip-fronted dress) on to the runway as part of The Dark Arts section, which also featured Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. The Dark Arts paved the way for an army of models with dip-dyed, poker-straight ponytails who marched down the catwalk; my favourite look was the Victoria Beckham military coat which would be perfect over a chunky, oversize knit and glossy black leather thigh high boots.

Last, but certainly not least, were the evening looks – stand out pieces included an Amanda Wakeley stretch circle cut dress, a Moschino Cheap & Chic silk evening dress with lace bodice, and a divine Jenny Packham dress finished elegantly with an embellished waistband.
After the show, we were treated to more drinks and 15% off the collections at Harvey Nichols Edinburgh. Despite hearing one veteran fashionista announce that there was, “Overkill on stretch!” this season, everyone had a ball – and shopped ‘til they dropped!

With thanks to Harvey Nichols Edinburgh.
