GWOTYA 2011

The Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2011 were held on Tuesday night and in keeping with the name, it was a very glamorous affair! Award winning celebrities who attended the event included the incredibly glamorous Kim Kardashian (Entrepreneur of the Year), pop-star of the moment Jessie J (Woman of Tomorrow) and the lovely Gemma Arterton (Film Actress of the Year). The awards have built on the brand that is GLAMOUR (Europe’s biggest selling monthly glossy) and established themselves as one of the biggest events of the season, recognising the accomplishments of women across TV, radio, film, theatre, music and business.
The event is held in association with the Danish jewellery designer, Pandora, where you can find hand-finished jewellery made from genuine materials at affordable prices. Their charm bracelets have been something of a jewellery phenomenon over the last couple of years (my boyfriend gave me a silver bracelet with heart charm for graduation last year) and their Lovepod collection is to die for. The award winners from last night’s event each were given a gold bracelet adorned with a gold charm, while the presenters were gifted a gold necklace with the Pandora anniversary charm. Pop group, The Saturdays, wore Pandora jewellery with their chosen looks for the evening – lucky Rochelle wore the rose gold Lovepod set. (The rings are beautiful, and can be stacked or worn alone to create different looks).
Other winners on the night included Victoria Beckham (Accessory Designer of the Year), Sarah Burton (Designer of the Year) and Ellie Goulding (Pandora Breakthrough of the Year, presented by Kings of Leon). Glamour Editor, Jo Elvin, presented her Editor’s Special Award to the breathtakingly beautiful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Stevie Nicks was awarded Outstanding Contribution.
The Glamour Women of the Year Awards is definitely a star-studded event in every sense – from the VIP guest list, the nominees and the sponsor! Shame this Glamour puss wasn’t invited.
