Dusty, Oh Dusty

Thanks to fluctuating temperatures, this time of year can be tricky when deciding what to wear. That’s why I’m loving long but light coats, also known as the ‘duster coat’. Duster coats are everywhere right now, but as soon as I saw this khaki one from the Loved By Mollie collection at Oasis, I knew it was the one. It seems a bit more grown up than others I’ve seen on the high street and I especially love the D-ring fastenings. The duster coat originated in the 1920s, when women wore long, buttonless coats to travel in an open car. How glamorous, to have a type of coat designed especially for travelling by an open top car! Sadly, I don’t own a convertible, but a duster coat I can afford – and this one I’ll wear anywhere I like.

I’m Wearing: coat, Loved By Mollie at Oasis; t-shirt, Next; jeans, M&S; bag, Zara; shoes, a gift; sunglasses, Dolce & Gabbana; rings, a selection including Monica Vinader; lipstick, Chanel.

NB: I actually think a pair of red lace up heels would work better with this look, but I couldn’t find any I really liked so went for these classic suede pumps instead. You get the idea. 🙂
