Debenhams’ Make Over

After 11 years in Overgate, Debenhams is experiencing a new look. As part of the refurbishment plans for one of Dundee’s most popular stores, Debenhams is undergoing a make-over which includes re-arranging of departments and some new features, such as pop-up stores and shopping events. There will also be some amazing new brands including Ossie Clark (scream!!!) and KG shoes (scream again!!!), a Benefit Brow Bar and the restaurant is being refurbished too. The whole lot will be finished by June this year, and Debenhams Manager, Colin McLean, is excited about the plan. He says: “The modernisation begins in a couple of weeks, so there’s a real buzz among colleagues. We’re confident customers are going to love the new and improved shopping experience.

“The investment demonstrates a real commitment to Dundee and hopefully shows our customers we’re as loyal to them as they are to us, especially when it comes to enjoying our designer names at high street prices.”

Most of you Daydreamers will agree that Debenhams is an efficient one-stop-shop for the savvy shopper; you’ll find everything from womenswear to menswear, beauty to home products, games to luggage. It’s a no-brainer for a last minute dash to find the perfect new dress and all the accessories you could possibly need, and yet, on the other hand, you can easily spend hours searching for the best bedspread to suit your new bedroom colour scheme or searching for a gift for the difficult men in your lives. It’s always one of the first places I turn to when on the hunt for something special.

Debenhams has worked hard over the past decade, so it’s great to hear that the store is being given a little “me time” of its own with its very own make-over. I for one am excited to see what Debenhams in Dundee will bring us over the next few months; I’m pretty sure that something special will happen to celebrate the past eleven years of retail success!
