This typically British weather calls for a cover up for inbetween seasons. Here in Scotland, things have been unpredictable and inconsistent; two weeks ago it was 20 degrees, last week it was snowing and this week the heavens can’t decide whether they are open or closed. For this type of weather, you need two things – a great spring jacket and a sturdy umbrella.
French Connection are doing a good selection of jackets just now. This relaxed blazer is good for daywear and can be worn over skinny blue jeans on the weekend or over smart capri pants for the office – either way, it works well with this season’s obsession for pastels. For evening, choose something like this rose gold sparkly jacket – the soft cut and short sleeve length makes it less formal, but the sequins add glamour to a simple dress or pair of black cigarette pants. Both are sure to stave off the April chill without adding winter bulk and will see you right through to September. Let’s just hope you won’t need your brolly the entire time!
