Burberry Cat Lashes mascara (£24) launches this month and, if you like to play up your eyes then you have to give this a try. The wand is quite different to anything I’ve seen before; slim in the centre, with full, rounded ends which really give definition to the outer lashes (creating that cat-eye effect – the ultimate partner to your liquid liner). The brush is super flexible, so moves easily between even the tiniest of lashes, and provides good coverage, while fanning out the lashes. Cat Lashes really makes my eyes ‘pop’ by lengthening each lash individually with little clumping – it’s a new favourite (I’ve been wearing it every day) and I particularly like the squared, mirrored tube with signature Burberry check. Super chic.
Of course, I had to tell you about some of the other Burberry Beauty products, which are equally as gorgeous. I explained on my Snapchat (find me: daydreamer.net) that I already use the Fresh Glow BB Cream (for summer) and the Effortless Kohl Eyeliner in Stone, (though I use it on the inner corners and to highlight my brow bone, rather than as a typical eyeliner), so I was excited to try out a few more products. I use the BB cream in the summer months as it’s really sheer, but for winter I’ll definitely be using the fuller coverage Burberry Cashmere foundation (in 26 Beige). It glides on easily and though it’s a full coverage foundation, it’s doesn’t feel caked on and it leaves the skin feeling soft. I really don’t like a foundation that loses moisture because you can really see how it dries the skin out but – despite its full coverage – Burberry Cashmere looks fresh and flawless throughout the day.
Another product I loved was the Eye Colour Contour pen. I was sent Natural and Dusky Mauve which work really well together. Again, these eyeshadow pens are soft and creamy, and are easy to apply even without an eyelid primer. They blend easily together; I used the warmth of my fingers to move the colour around and blend together, but I’m sure a brush would work too – the appeal of these pens is that you really don’t need anything else though. The only down side was that the colour didn’t last very long – however, they’re so easy to apply that I would happily pop them in my bag and reapply throughout the day/evening. Probably one of the simplest products I’ve come across, so easy to use and there’s no risk of making a mess when attempting a smoky eye. The Eye Colour Contour pens are perfect for people on the go, or people who don’t like to spend a lot of time or energy on their make up.
As you know, I’m a skin and eyes girl, so as much as I adore the lipsticks that were generously sent over to me, I just know I won’t wear them. They’re really rich, gorgeous colours and are beautifully packaged, so they must have a happy home with someone who will love them! The top ones are Burberry Full Kisses in Cherry Blossom (left) and Lilac (right), and the bottom set are Burberry Kisses Sheer in Oxblood (left) and Light Crimson (right). Keep scrolling to find out how you can win one.
To win one of these lipsticks, simply comment on this blog post with why you love to wear lippy, list the order in which you like the colours above, and leave your email address.
Giveaway closes on Sunday 7 August at midnight and the winner/winners will be notified by email. T&Cs apply; The Daydreamer reserves the right to cancel the competition at any time and The Daydreamer’s decision is final.
