A British summer wardrobe staple

The thing about British summer is, even when the weather is gorgeous enough to wear a beautiful summer outfit you always need something cosy to hand, just in case – the weather has a habit of turning, particularly on the North East coast of Scotland.

Enter this easy-to-wear cardigan from Great Plains, which is especially lovely with this pretty floral jumpsuit from the same label. The jumpsuit has a cross-over tie at the waist to neatly nip you in, with comfortable wide legs, and yet the halter-neck is somewhat sexy. These considered design elements make it versatile, wearable for different occasions – it’s ideal for relaxed walks or picnics in the countryside, barbecues and drinks with friends, or even those odd days back in the office, if and when the time comes.

The cardigan though, well, it’s a summer must-have. I received it two weeks ago and I’ve been wearing it ever since. It goes absolutely everywhere, with absolutely everything. From this jumpsuit and light summer dresses to basic jeans and t-shirts, this boxy little cardi looks great with them all. And, the best bit> Well, that North Easterly wind we know all too well doesn’t have quite the same bite with the cardigan thrown over your shoulders. Which means your cute summer outfits still get to shine, no matter what the British weather throws at us.
