CHANEL is always at the forefront of both fashion and beauty. The recent M’etiers d’Art show at Linlithgow in Scotland was a huge success, Brad Pitt is the handsome face of Chanel No.5 for men, and the Christmas make up collection is a hit with beauty fans everywhere.
Throughout the party season, I wore the Christmas Collection non-stop. My favourites are the eyeshadows, but I do love the Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick despite not often wearing lipstick. The lipstick is a matte colour, and is full of moisture which keep slips soft and supple. No flaky bits when you wear CHANEL, darlings! The plum-grape colour (307 L’impatiente) is festive, but totally modern (to wear a statement lip colour is so now) and it’s one that I would be tempted to wear beyond the safety of my bathroom!
Back to the eyeshadow. The Ombres Contraste Duo comes in the chic CHANEL packaging – the epitome of elegance. I wore the Nuit-Claire (47) which is a dark grey and luminous gold duo; perfect for shading and highlighting. The slight shimmer meant that the duo was fabulous for parties, adding plenty of drama with the darker grey shading. That said, it’s a great day time product too – wearing the pale colour alone for day lifted my complexion, whereas, when worn alone, the grey acted as an eyeliner, making my eyes pop without the harsh black lines of a pencil. The shadow lasted well, but the signature monochrome compact was a great excuse for slipping it out of my bag for a touch-up!
What I like about the CHANEL Christmas Collection is that, like most CHANEL products and fashions, it’s timeless. I’m still wearing the eyeshadows now – the classic colour palette means that I will probably wear it until next Christmas!
