Autumn Layers

image

The mornings are more crisp, the evenings more chilly. The leaves shimmer with gold and burn with firey red, and our breath is visible is short puffs of warm cloud. Despite the warm afternoon temperatures, autumn is definitely here; she’s just yet to settle in.

Now is the perfect time to pull out the autumn layers. It’s the only way to dress come September and October; workwear can be layered with pretty camisoles, smart blazers and cosy pashminas, but the weekend is where autumn layering becomes fun. Cosy knits, fur gilets, wool hats and ankle boots are where it’s at.

In my second Damart post, I styled this coatigan (£45) with their Amazing Jeggings (I raved about these in black, in my last post – stretchy, comfy, elasticated waist – and, best of all, just £19), the ultimate go-to, easy weekend wear. The coatigan is soft, not scratchy and, well, you know how I much I love the jeggings (which colour would you choose?).  I teamed the look with a simple t-shirt (already in my wardrobe) and berry accents in the form of a wool fedora and ankle boots (both c/o Next).

Weekend wear made easy, by Damart.

(Don’t you just LOVE an elasticated waist? Or am I showing my age?)

    Hi Michelle,
You are too kind! Thank you so much. The header was designed by Natalie Rompotis, an illustrator based in Sydney. She’s amazing, and you can find her on Instagram. She’s worked with various clients including Australian Fashion Week.
Yes, Kris is my husband! He’s a truly wonderful photographer although he lacks patience with me.;)
And thank you for your kind comments. The hat is amazing, I’d recommend buying it – 100% wool and only £28 at Next. xx
