One of my closest friends, Nicki, is having a baby in October. I’ve known Nicki since the first day of school, when our Mums sent us along the road to primary school together, hand in hand. We’ve always said we’re the sisters we never had, and to this day I feel the exact same way as I did twenty five (!) years ago.
Today, two of my other closest friends and I treated Nic to lunch at The Apex in Dundee and surprised her with a manicure and pedicure in The Yu Spa this afternoon. The three of us and my baby Goddaughter, Carmen, toasted Nicki and her bump a glass of Prosecco each (and milk for Carmen) and we enjoyed some burgers and steak salads. Nic was quite touched by the treat; it was the best way to celebrate her pregnancy as Nic would definitely not have appreciated a surprise baby shower party!
For the special occasion, I wore a discounted dress by Florence & Fred at Tesco with my H&M jacket and Mulberry Bayswater. With the Primark platforms and Nicole Farhi sunglasses, it made for a great end-of-summer outfit with my best friends.
