A Fresh Start: The Daydreamer’s Face Lift

With a new year comes a new blog; welcome to the relaunch of The Daydreamer!

I have wanted to develop my blog for a while, but I knew I’d need help to do it (I’m a bit of a technophobic blogger!) and, because of this, I couldn’t just jump in head first – I wanted to be sure that the people I worked with just ‘got me’ and the blog. After a good few months searching, I found two amazing people on social media. It seems apt that it was just in time for 2015, the year that The Daydreamer turns five; a nice wee ‘facelift’ for its fifth birthday!

First on the design team was Natalie Rompotis, an illustrator from Melbourne and who is now based in Sydney. She works on some fabulous projects including Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and I discovered her work on Instagram. I commissioned her to personalise a header for the blog and she totally delivered the goods! I love my new header (especially Jake the Cob), and I hope you do too!

The second team member was Kick Web Design, a company that I found on Twitter and that works with a lot of gaming websites, so I knew they would have the technical side of web design nailed. What made this so easy was that Chris spoke to me in the most basic terms, so that I understood the entire process from start to finish and he made the transition seamless.

Together, we have created the new site for The Daydreamer, which has been a work-in-progress for the last few weeks (hence the lack of blog posts – soz!). Without the skill and talent of Natalie and Chris at Kick Web Design, I wouldn’t have been able to relaunch The Daydreamer. It feels great to be able to finally share it with you.

What do you think of the new look? Please do leave a comment or get in touch with your thoughts. I’d love to hear from both readers and fellow bloggers!
